The Italian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (SILME) actively participates in the international landscape of lifestyle medicine, contributing to the development and dissemination of evidence-based approaches for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.
SILME is recognized as a second-level organization within the Lifestyle Medicine Global Alliance, an international network that connects leading scientific societies dedicated to advancing lifestyle medicine worldwide. Through this collaboration, SILME contributes to the global exchange of knowledge, strategies, and practical tools aimed at promoting sustainable and evidence-based health models.

Within this international framework, SILME supports initiatives that strengthen the global adoption of lifestyle medicine and endorses the principles of the Doha Declaration, which promotes the integration of prevention and treatment of chronic diseases through scientifically supported lifestyle interventions.
SILME also acknowledges the role of the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine, the global certification body that establishes and maintains standards for credentialing physicians and graduate-level health professionals in evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine.
Through these international collaborations, SILME contributes to the global advancement of lifestyle medicine while strengthening Italy’s role within the international scientific community.
Scientific Collaborations
SILME actively collaborates with LMS Switzerland, the official Swiss organization dedicated to the advancement and promotion of lifestyle medicine.
The Lifestyle Medicine Society Switzerland (LMS) is a non-profit medical association and one of the largest Lifestyle Medicine communities in the German-speaking region, including Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.
LMS is dedicated to advancing the integration of evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine into healthcare systems by focusing on the prevention, treatment, and potential reversal of non-communicable diseases.
